About GE
GE Appliances traces back to General Electric’s consumer products business. Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, its largest manufacturing site, began construction in 1951. In 2016 Haier, a Chinese company, bought the business for $5.6 billion, and Haier holds the right to use the GE name on appliances until 2056. The lines include GE, GE Profile, Café and Monogram. An earlier sale to Electrolux was agreed but dropped after the US Department of Justice sued to block it.

Find your model and serial number
GE says the tag location varies with the appliance and model. Its Find Model and Serial Number tool lets you choose the brand and appliance type and shows where the tag sits. Newer tags may carry a QR code. GE and GE Profile model numbers begin and end with a letter, and Monogram models begin with Z or U.

How service works
We can look at your GE appliance in your home, or in our shop for smaller items. In-shop diagnostic: $50 plus GST, credited toward the repair if you go ahead. In-home service call: $95 plus GST ($95 plus mileage plus GST outside Calgary), with parts and labour on top. You get a repair quote before any work. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
