About Amana
Amana goes back to 1934, when George C. Foerstner founded Amana Refrigeration in Amana, Iowa. The brand passed through Raytheon, Goodman and Maytag, and Whirlpool Corporation took it over in 2006 with the Maytag purchase. Whirlpool describes Amana as built around affordable, simple appliances without extra features. The brand’s U.S. website lists refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ranges, microwaves, dishwashers and hoods.

Amana’s U.S. help page gives a spot for each product type. Top load washers have it beneath the lid on the tub rim, and front load washers and dryers inside the door opening. Top freezer and bottom freezer fridges carry it on the left inside the fresh food section, and side by side fridges on the right. Ranges have it on the oven frame, and built-in dishwashers on the left of the tub frame.

How service works
We can look at your Amana appliance in your home, or in our shop for smaller items. In-shop diagnostic: $50 plus GST, credited toward the repair if you go ahead. In-home service call: $95 plus GST ($95 plus mileage plus GST outside Calgary), with parts and labour on top. You get a repair quote before any work. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
