About Yamaha
Yamaha Corporation was founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Hamamatsu, Japan, as a reed organ maker, and carried the name Nippon Gakki until 1987. Its range covers musical instruments and audio equipment, including AV receivers and speakers. Yamaha Motor has been a separate company since 1955.

Find your model and serial number
Yamaha’s safety brochure for its AV receivers says the model and serial numbers are on or near the name plate at the back of the unit. Photograph that plate before you bring the receiver in.

How service works
Home visits suit large items such as projectors or home theatre systems that are hard to move, and smaller Yamaha items can be brought to our shop. Southland repairs electronics. We do not sell them. In-shop diagnostic: $50 plus GST, credited toward the repair if you go ahead. In-home service call: $95 plus GST ($95 plus mileage plus GST outside Calgary), with parts and labour on top. You get a repair quote before any work. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
