Denon AV receivers sit at the centre of a lot of home theatres here, and when one stops passing sound or video the whole room goes quiet. Southland repairs Denon home theatre gear at our shop as an independent service.

About Denon
Denon dates to 1910 in Japan, where it was founded by the American Frederick Whitney Horn. It merged with Marantz in 2002 to form D&M Holdings, which Sound United bought in 2017. Harman International, a Samsung Electronics subsidiary, announced in September 2025 that it had completed its purchase of Sound United from Masimo.

Find your model and serial number
In Denon’s owner’s manual for an older AV receiver, the AVR-1604, the serial number is on a label at the rear of the cabinet, and the manual does not point to a model number location. Newer units may differ, so read the label on yours.

How service works
Home visits suit large items such as projectors or home theatre systems that are hard to move, and smaller Denon items can be brought to our shop. Southland repairs electronics. We do not sell them. In-shop diagnostic: $50 plus GST, credited toward the repair if you go ahead. In-home service call: $95 plus GST ($95 plus mileage plus GST outside Calgary), with parts and labour on top. You get a repair quote before any work. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
