Philips is better known for health technology these days, but its name is still on plenty of televisions in Calgary homes. If yours has gone dark or silent, Southland can diagnose it at your home or in our shop.

About Philips
Gerard Philips and his father Frederik founded Philips in Eindhoven in 1891 to make lamps, and the company is now headquartered in Amsterdam and focused on health technology. Since April 2012 its TV business has sat in the TP Vision joint venture, later owned fully by TPV. In February 2025 Skyworth announced a trademark licensing agreement to sell Philips branded TVs in the North American market.

Find your model and serial number
Philips calls the model the set type or product number and lists a sticker on the TV and a menu inside the TV as ways to find it. Model numbers look like 55PUS7502/05, a size, a series and a regional suffix. The sticker is the easier route if the picture is gone.

How service works
Large Philips TVs can be repaired in your home, and smaller items can be brought to our shop. Southland repairs TVs. We do not sell TVs. In-shop diagnostic: $50 plus GST, credited toward the repair if you go ahead. In-home service call: $95 plus GST ($95 plus mileage plus GST outside Calgary), with parts and labour on top. You get a repair quote before any work. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
